FAQ

Quick answers to common questions.

What is Specbook?

Specbook is a construction spec management workspace built by Miivo for the Noura Homes team. It replaces ad-hoc spreadsheets with one structured source of truth per project. See welcome.

Who can sign in?

Anyone invited by a workspace admin. There's no self-signup. See sign in.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet. The web interface works on tablets and phones, though the sheet editor is most comfortable on a desktop.

Can I work offline?

No. The workspace requires an internet connection.

How is my data backed up?

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database with regular backups. Attachments live in Google Cloud Storage with its own redundancy guarantees. The platform admin handles backup retention and restore, talk to the Miivo team if you need data recovery.

Can I export my entire workspace?

Per-project, yes, generate a Miivo workbook export. For a full workspace export contact the Miivo team.

Can I delete a project?

You can archive it (recommended) or soft-delete it. There's no hard-delete from the UI, projects are always recoverable through an admin.

Can I undo an action?

Most edits autosave with no explicit undo. The audit log records what changed; reverting is a manual edit with a change reason. Destructive actions (deleting a unit, scope conversion to per-project, deleting a custom column) cannot be undone, back up via export or duplicate first.

Can I rename a category?

No. The 20 categories are fixed. You can rename groups, items, and custom columns within a category.

Can I add a new category?

No. The category list is part of the category schema and isn't editable through the UI. If you need a new spec area, talk to the Miivo team about extending the schema.

Why can't I edit this sheet?

Either the sheet is marked complete or the project is finalised/archived. You can edit; the workspace is just asking for a change reason before saving.

Why does a new project come pre-seeded with items I don't want?

Each category schema has default starter items. They're suggestions, not constraints, delete what doesn't apply. To remove them across future projects, save your cleaned-up project as a template.

How do I get help?

Workspace admins are your first stop. For platform issues (bugs, performance, missing features), contact the Miivo team.
