Three ways to sign in to your Specbook workspace, password, email code, or magic link.
Specbook gives you three ways to sign in. Pick whichever fits the moment: a password if you set one, an emailed code if you can't remember it, or a magic link if you don't want to type anything at all.
You should already have an invitation in your inbox. Accepting it sets up your account; after that, you can use any of the three methods to sign in at the workspace URL.
Three ways to sign in
Best when you sign in often and remember your password.
Open the workspace URL.
Enter your email and password. The password is at least 8 characters.
Click Sign in. You land on the workspace dashboard.
If your password isn't working and you don't have it saved anywhere, switch to Email code or Magic link, both bypass the password entirely.
Best when you can't remember your password or don't want to type one.
Open the workspace URL and switch to the Email code tab.
Enter your email and click Send code. We send a short numeric code to your inbox.
Open the email, copy the code, paste it into the Code from email field.
Click Sign in.
If you typed the wrong email, click Use a different email to start over without leaving the page.
Best when you're already in your inbox or signing in on a phone.
Open the workspace URL and switch to the Magic link tab.
Enter your email and click Email magic link.
Open the email and click the sign-in link. You land on the workspace already signed in, no password, no code.
The link is single-use and expires quickly. If it stops working, just request a fresh one.
Signing in from an invitation email
If this is your first time, you'll arrive at sign-in via the link in your invitation rather than by typing the workspace URL. The flow is the same, with two small differences:
- The email field is pre-filled and locked to the address that was invited. You can't change it on this screen, that prevents accidentally accepting an invitation with the wrong account.
- If you're already signed in as a different email, the page will offer to sign you out and switch accounts. Take that option if it appears, otherwise the invitation can't be accepted.
After accepting, you can sign in any time afterwards using any of the three methods above.
Signing out
Click your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Sign out. On a shared computer, sign out at the end of every session.
One workspace per person. This Specbook deployment runs as a single workspace for the whole team. There's no "switch workspace" menu, if you have access to anything else, that's a separate sign-in entirely.
Trouble signing in
- Email isn't arriving. Check spam first, then ask a workspace admin to confirm your email is on file. If you're brand new, the admin may need to send (or resend) the invitation.
- Wrong account. If you're signed in as someone else and need to switch, sign out from your avatar menu, then sign in again with the correct email.
- The magic link or code expired. Just request a new one, both flows are unlimited.
