Add and rename units

Manage the unit list on a project, add, rename, reorder, remove.

Units live as tabs across the top of the project. They're easy to change at any time.

Add a unit

Open the project.

Click + Unit at the right end of the unit tab bar.

Type a name (e.g. Unit C, Suite 301) and press Enter.

Unit tab bar
The unit tab bar lives across the top of the project.

When you add a unit, every per-unit category gets a fresh empty sheet for that unit.

Rename a unit

Double-click the unit tab, type the new name, press Enter. The change propagates to every per-unit sheet, every export, and every share link.

Reorder units

Click and drag a unit tab to a new position. The order persists for everyone in the workspace and is reflected in exports.

Remove a unit

Right-click the unit tab and choose Remove unit.

Confirm the prompt, removing a unit deletes all its per-unit sheets and items.

Removing a unit is destructive. Items and attachments on that unit's per-unit sheets are deleted. The action shows in the audit log but data isn't recoverable from the UI. If you might need the data later, duplicate the project first.

What unit changes don't affect

  • Per-project sheets are unaffected, the same shared sheet is visible regardless of which unit you have selected.
  • Other units' sheets are completely independent. Removing Unit B doesn't touch Unit A.

Naming conventions

  • Use names that mean something to your team and the customer, Unit A and Unit B are fine for a duplex; Suite 301, Suite 302 may be clearer for a multi-suite property.
  • Keep names short, they appear as tab labels and in exports.
