Add and edit items
Adding new rows, editing values, deleting items.
An item is one line in a spec sheet, a Sink, a Faucet, a Toilet. You'll spend most of your time on a sheet here.
Add an item
Open the sheet.
Find the group you want to add to (e.g. Master Bathroom). If it doesn't exist yet, click + Group first.
At the bottom of the group, click + Item.
Type a name and press Tab to start filling in the columns.

Edit an item
Click any cell to edit its value. Edits autosave on blur (clicking out of the cell) or when you press Enter.
- Text / number fields, type directly.
- Date fields, click to open the date picker.
- Dropdowns, pick from the list.
- Autocomplete fields (Brand, Model, Colour, …), type to filter catalogue entries. The column's own category shows first, then other categories below (each value tagged with a chip naming its kind). When nothing matches, a Create New row lets you add the value to the catalogue inline. Free text is fine too, you don't have to pick from the list.
- Checkboxes, click to toggle.
Delete an item
Right-click the row and choose Delete item. Confirm the prompt. The item and its attachments are removed.
On a locked sheet, deleting still requires a change reason. Same as any other edit.
Rename an item
Click the item name cell and edit. The change autosaves.
Reordering items
Drag the row by its handle (the dotted icon at the start of the row) to a new position within the group. To move an item to a different group, drag it onto the destination group's header. See reorder and group.
Required fields
Some columns are required for the sheet to be marked complete (the schema decides which). The Mark complete button is disabled until every required cell is filled.
Tips
- Tab moves between cells in a row; Shift-Tab goes backwards.
- Enter in the last cell of a row adds a fresh row below it.
- Select a row and press Esc to close the right-rail without deleting anything.
