Share links

Generate a public URL that gives someone read-only access to a project.

A share link is a token-based URL that gives anyone with the link read-only access to a project. Share links are how you let customers, suppliers, or trades see the project without creating an account or being added to the workspace.

Open the project.

Click Share in the project header.

Configure the link:

  • Allow Excel download, let viewers download the Miivo workbook export.
  • Expiration, pick a date after which the link stops working, or leave unset for an evergreen link.

Click Create link. Copy the URL and send it.

Toggle download permissions and set an expiration before creating.

What viewers see

See public preview for the full picture.

In short: a clean read-only view of the project, units, sheets, items, attached images, decision-maker notes. No edit affordances; no admin actions. Sheets marked not customer-shown are hidden.

You can create as many share links as you need for one project. Each has its own permissions and expiration. Useful for:

  • A long-lived link for the customer.
  • A short-lived link for a one-off supplier with download enabled.
  • A link with no downloads for an interested party who shouldn't have the workbook.

Open the project's Share screen.

Find the link in the list.

Click Revoke.

The link stops working immediately. Anyone who already downloaded files keeps those downloads.

Best practices

  • Use expirations for links going to people you don't have a long relationship with.
  • Toggle downloads off for early reviews where the workbook isn't final.
  • Revoke on project finalisation if the share link's audience no longer needs ongoing access.
