Start a project from a template
Pre-populate a new project with units, columns, and items from a saved template.
Starting from a template saves a lot of setup. The new project lands with units, custom columns, and seed items already in place.
Steps
Click Projects → + New project.
Fill in the project basics, name, lot, address, customer, project type.
Under Start from, pick a template:
- The standard library appears at the top.
- Templates your team saved appear below.
- The picker filters to templates matching the chosen project type by default. Toggle "Show all" if you don't see what you're looking for.
Click Create.

What lands in the new project
The full template structure plus your project basics. Specifically:
- The template's units (you can rename or add units after).
- Every per-category sheet, with the template's items, classifications, notes, and attribute values.
- The template's column customizations per category.
What doesn't
- Image attachments, the template carries no images.
- The template's customer name (you provided your own).
- Completion timestamps, every sheet starts in editing state.
Right after creation
A few things to do before filling in real data:
Rename units to match the actual build (the template's unit names are placeholders).
Spot-check a couple of sheets to confirm the column setup is what you want, open Customize columns on a sheet to see.
Clean out any seed items that don't apply to this build before the team starts editing.
